Alumtech Bond Cassette Panel System: A modern and sleek look for corporate and commercial buildings.
Main Advantage
Since we use sheet metal to make these Cassettes, this will bring the cost even more compared to ACM cladding. Also, when designs require larger than typical panel sizes, Cassette Panelling is definitely the solution. The target areas would include vertical expansive commercial walls (educational and healthcare centres), and industrial facilities. Cassette Panels can also be used for soffits (horizontal exterior structures).
Shape
Cassette Panels are a perfect choice for commercial or corporate buildings due to the futuristic look they emanate and the large area they cover. These Panels have a curvy outside bend and 4 bevelled edges which are fixed horizontally/vertically on the mounting system side by side, hence the name Cassette.
Material
They are made of Pre-Painted Galvanized Steel (PPGS) of either 0.8 mm, 0.6 mm, or 0.5 mm. The coating is either Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PvDF) which are UV and stain resistant or Silicone Modified Polyesters (SMP) which adds extra gloss and resistance to the Polyester coating. Aluminum Cassette Panels are also available upon request.
System
The light weight and the jointed system make Cassette Panels one of the fastest and most cost-effective in cladding system for commercial purposes in both low/high rise applications. The cassettes are mounted using invisible clips unto a metal subframe, which is secured to the load-bearing structure beneath (Concrete or brickwork wall). The clips will allow for free expansion/contraction of the metal in different seasons. Cassette Panels are categorized as a rainscreen system, protecting the substrate by directing the moisture away from the walls they cover.
Installation
Cassette Panels are primarily used on commercial/industrial buildings where the walls/surfaces are either brickwork or concrete on which a sub-framing is needed to mount the Cassette Panels.
The sub-framing is usually made of 0.04” Galvanized Steel and is installed horizontally or vertically. Sometimes depending on the required specifications, a double horizontal-vertical sub-framing will be requested. In projects where a continuous insulation is also required, the sub-framing will be designed to allow the insertion of insulation material as well.
Alumtech Bond has a dedicated design team to create the design that includes the sub-framing layout and the production drawings.
The sub-framing will then be produced inhouse without delay, reducing the turn-around time substantially.
As soon as the sub-framing is installed on the walls, the depth of the panels will be determined based on which the shop drawings to produce the panels will be made. This will determine the size of each panel and their exact position on the wall, the corners, the soffit, and the capping.
The panels will then be joint-clipped side by side on the sub-framing in a way that the clips themselves are not visible. The result is a flat and straight wall which acts as a slope correction method of the initial wall too. This is why Cassette Panels are one of the fastest cladding systems available which is a decisive factor in commercial and industrial cladding projects.
